barn series

so i need to get a portfolio for notre dame. and i love old/falling apart barns. so... had break-through when i was studying last week. I'm going to go around logan, and surrounding areas and take pictures of all the amazing barns or buildings i see then draw or paint them. awesome idea huh? i'm actually really excited. i haven't drawn in a long time so this will be fun. and trying to get into water color. all fun.

and i know the iphone is not the great camera (in the slightest). so now i really need to get a part time job so i can buy a cannon SLR camera. but that'll take time, and this will do for now. but i'm excited to start this. maybe i'll start today.

and i was going to enter this contest to built a home for habitat for humanity in Texas. this Dallas firm forwarded me the info, but way to late. the deadline is for today, and its a holiday, and yeah, just too late. i'm kinda crazy bummed. i was going to do it in a mission/Mexican style home. it would've been amazing! oh well. but through this I've researched other contest thru the classicist.org (basically its a club for classical architects), and they sponsor someone go live and learn and train in rome! and its on their dime! so i'm going to try to do that. but i need to finish grad school first. so this wont be for awhile. but another goal! love this.
