yup. didn't really feel like going into work today... and i was in ct still... and yeah... didn't feel like it. and it's a down time right now (well, not really but i'm telling myself that so i don't feel too bad for missing work). but anyway i ditched work today. and it was great! i've got this list of nyc 50 best blocks and sadly i already know about most of them. some of them i don't agree with, but most of them are beatiful. well since my mom drove me back into the city (thanks mom!) she came and looked at some of the 50 best blocks. well we only went and saw one of them (106 @ Riverside Dr, which oddly enough i had already knew about it and love, love this one house on the corner) but then we headed down to the west village cause she told me she had never really explored down there. well, that is a crime. it's seriously unreal down there. so charming, and cute with all the simple brownstones, they feel like the real 1800's to me, and the cobble stone streets, and you can't forget about the lovely boutiques that are crazy expensive. haha. i did find this one bag that i might go back and get in a few. but we'll see. if i'm still thinking about it in a month then i'll get it. but listed below are some of the sights we saw today. man, i love this city!

this is just a classic west village brownstone. it's amazing to me, but each neighborhood has very different brownstones. downtown they are more simple, and federal looking to me. i feel as if i'm in philly in the 1800's. not that i've ever been to philly. but i image it would look like this.
a wonderful building on 105th? i think. it was beautiful. took my breath away. look at the window headers. stunning. it's all stone by the way. i'm guessing hand carved too. seeing how most of these were built in the early 19th century.
again, 106th? i think. love the white brownstones. stunning block

this is one of my favorite buildings in the city. it's on the corner of 71st and broadway (? i think) but i love it. i love, love the interior and if i didn't feel weird about it, i would have taken pics of the inside. it truely is amazing. the following pics are close up details of this beauty.
