As per Request

so i got a request to take pictures of central park. so i did. but, unforunately today is a crappy, crummy day. it's snowing out so the lighting is terrible. but whatever, there's no snow on the ground so central park isn't at it's peak anyway. but did you know... central park is all man mande? yup, true story. i think it was created by Calvert Vaux well his bio didn't say anything about it, but when i researched; central park history he popped up. and since i'm bored of reading. that's what you get. but i know though, that it was a copitetion and the best plan won. i'm guessing (again) calvert vaux. so yeah, here's some pics of the park today. again, it was nasty outside and the spring time is really the best. actually, no that's a lie. fall is amazing. up at the jackie o'nasis reservior. that's just unreal. your running on this dirt path right by this beautiful lake, then colorful trees are bordering that, with buildings popping out in the background. just unreal the amount of vision vaux had. and thank goodness too!! even though i'm all about buildings, it would be such a shame to have a pure concrete jungle here, with no green (as in trees, no money cause there's plenty of that). but yeah so here's some randon shots. oh, and i changed my header with a picture now. do you see the bresford in the background? it's the building with the two peirs coming out of it.

some famous fountain

some amazing amplitheather? something.

you take this to go down to the fountain. this has been under construction since i've been here. i think they finished it this summer. it's beautiful, with vaulted ceilings, all tile. really cool

as i was walking away i noticed the deatils were not similar on all four sides... can you pick it up?

does this help?? it's quite obvious. just cool details on the benches. well no. those flower/stars are hiddeous. i'm talking about the ironwork. that's what's really neat.classic central park view on a crappy day. ha. one great side effect of nasty weather here = less people. it's amazing, when it snows here, i swear its like people have never seen it before and don't leave their homes. it's awesome!

**okay so i'm retarded. i've loved this building since i've moved here. and i JUST realized today it's on my block coner. ha, i rode the short bus this morning appearantly. haha

here's a closer look. the nice surprise. when i was working in ct i would walk down to grand cetral from my house up on 95th, well one night when i was walking home this made me stop in my tracks. you would think this would be a fountain or something... oh no! it's a light! amazing! what a wonderful idea. i will be applying (stealing idea) this to a project. detail in full view. jus beautiful. how it's all framed in by the moulding. love it.
