freakin' awesome!

so i've been amazing this week. i started running on tuesday and haven't miss a day yet. this is pretty huge for me considering i haven't run since, um, august maybe? or before? waaaay too long. and tomorrow i'm excited it's going to be the 6 mile loop around central park. i haven't done that for a while either. and this week flew too. i think cause i was trying to juggle everything. i seriously thought yesturday was monday. what a wonderful surprise finding today is friday, meaning weekend. hall-le-lu-ia! haha.

i've decided i want to start a new tradition too. tonight i went to toys r us to go buy some christmas gifts for a little boy in the harlem ward. and it was probably one of the best nights in the city so far. man, i kind of had to hold back on getting stuff. everything seemed so great. but anyway, yeah i want to do this every year. i know my family growing up (mom) always gave to a less forunate family in the stake or somewhere... but man, this feeling is awesome! just walking home with all the gifts. i can't wait to wrap them and give them out. but it was a little daunting at first to try to figure out what a little 10 year old boy likes. but thankfully i had his mom's number and she gave me wonderful insights. so, i really, really hope he has a great christmas! that is the best part of christmas anyway...giving all the gifts. so fun.

but yeah, i can't wait til it snows here. all the christmas lights are up and i had misfortune of walking throught ginormous crowd to see the rockefellor tree all lite up. man, that was horrible. i always seem to do that. get in the parade/massive event crowds. it was seriously insane! but the tree does look pretty cool thought, smaller than what it seems like on TV but i'm guessing cause they get real close up to it and then zoom in. again, another mis-representation of the city through media. ha.
