so the other day i took the train into the city from my parents house to see how long of a commute it would be and if i could hack it. it's a 2 hour commute-one way. ouch. but when i got there, i'm not gunna lie, it really felt like home. i started to remember all these fun things that i used to do, and all these places i used to go to. but, as i have been told i tend to usually only focus on the positive of things...which can be great! but also... not so great. cause i forget about the nitty gritty every day ordeals.
well i walked all around the city. i had planned to walk downtown thru park ave then hit south street seaport, then financial tribecca, west village take the train up the the upper west side, cross the park to the upper east side then walk down to grand central for ct. but (!) that would have been a couple of days of doing that (thats the entire island basically). cause after 3 hours my feet were not so happy with me. i was wearing my moms shoes which were a size too small. so not the best choice. so i only walked down park ave to the village, west village, meat packing district, over to the espionage, tribecca, soho, astor place. then a subway back to grand central. i know it doesn't sound like a lot after what i wanted to do... but it was. oh it was! ha. but i stumbled upon this gem around NYU. and oddly enough. i've never seen NYU campus area. sure, i've seen that one building on broadway countless times but that's it. and NYU started today so i saw tons and tons of new freshman with their parents roaming around the campus. anyway here's the gem:
i loved being around all the beauty. it was a lot of fun. so i would be "ok" if i had to come back to the city. it's just a tough pill to swallow honestly. cause then these past 2.5 years have been a complete and utter waste. hopefully something will happen for me in utah or cali. if not then boston or dc. and possibly even down in north carolina or something. gosh, i might even take dallas over nyc. nyc is kinda last resort.
