See ya in 2!!

so he's gone for 2 years! heading out to experience the phillipeano culture. what an awesome experience he's gunng have. well, i couldn't go to the mtc with him to drop him off cause i had to be back in logan for school, so it kinda sucked saying goodbye to him the night before. i know i shouldn't have thought this, but i kept thinking about when kendra (a friend i grew up with) said goodbye to her brother, it was the last time she would ever see him. he went down to brazil (i think) and got killed down there. so i know only 3 to 4 missionaries die per year, but still, i kept thinking about that when i was saying goodbye.

anyway, i know he'll be great! he's already written home an email to my folks, and i loved it. he sounded so normal! haha. my mom is doing a blog for him; elderaustinwhite.blogspot.com where anyone can read his letters. but since he's left i've already sent him a million emails and letters (almost daily through dearelder.com). it's so different now with email vs. when all my mission buddies where out. it was so painful having to wait til they responded to my handwritten letters. families are so spoiled now with this whole emailing thing. ha. but, then again, emails don't give you that special feeling of receiving a real letter. so i guess pro's/con's everywhere. and i swear, before (10 years ago) i think missionaries had way more time to write home. none of this 30 mins on pday stuff. cause i would get long letters from friends, and if they only had 30 mins?? yeah, no way. so i think they've tighten the belt there.

but that's it. austin went in on october 27th, 2010 and will be heading to the Philippines on december 27th-ish. don't know exact date. my mom said he can't call home on christmas cause he's in the mtc. if that's true, that kinda stinks. but understandable. how could they let 4,000 people all call home. but, then again, they should plan/know about this and get multiple phones set up. also... i'm sure they've got cell phones floating around. that's what they use in the field. so... i don't know. i guess we'll find out when it's christmas time.

but my car has been giving me more troubles again. thought i was going to buy a passat, had a bad feeling, so i didn't go through with it. then i thought about selling out (posted it on ksl to sell, it's actually still up) but really, who is going to buy a bmw with 120,ooo+ miles on it?? i sure wouldn't. even if they last up to 250,000. still now is the time they are real expensive with all the fixing up. so i've decided to get new brakes/whatnot and just save up little by little until it actually drives and it's more money to fix vs. what it's worth. so that means, no more trips anywhere basically, and i'll probably be spending thanksgiving up here in logan. which honestly is not a big deal to me at all. it's just another day where the family all get together. like a sunday meal. no biggie. and callie wont be there, so... eh. hahaha. just kidding. well off to write my paper for art history. it's a real neat idea. we have to write about a greek sculpture and compare/contrast to an advertisement for today. please see pictures below... and you'll know how awkward this is to write about! hahaha. just funny. but i got an A on my midterm. i'm pretty happy about that. i'm trying to see if i can write an extra paper for extra credit. i think i have a B+ in the class, and that wont cut it. so anything i can do extra i will. 3D i'm nervous about. i think for sure i have a B, and there is no way i want to re-do one of the extremely lame projects we've done. thankfully there is only 5 weeks left in that class, yeah don't worry i'm counting down. it's really painful to go. besides the new people i've met in the class it's not enjoyable, and frankly just a waste of time/money/and brainpower to put up with the moronic teacher. blah.

but here's the pictures for my paper... ENJOY!!! HAHAHA
