MATH 1050 RECITATION
these are the classes i hope to get into for the fall. life would be splendid if i can. i'll have painting, ceramics (hopefully will get all my xmas gifts out of this!!) and math monday/Wednesday. then a usu gen ed (the marriage/relationship class), computers and art (where you learn about photoshop, illustrator, etc programs), survey (art history course from pre-historic to rennasance) then a math lab. so monday/wednesday i'll be in school from 8:30am to 5:30 pm, not bad. then tuesday/thursday i'll be in class from 7am (eek) to 2:30pm. and NO CLASS FRIDAY!!! so that'll be wonderful. totallng 16 credits. and hopefully i can work on tues/thurs/friday/sat. gotta squeeze that in there too.
so yup, no real art history classes (minus survey) cause.... i'm switching majors! yeah, i realized, how thrilled i was when i got a passing grade in English 2010 (usu requirement for graduation) and thinking, wow, i never, ever have to take English again! sa-weet! well... with the art history major all you do is analyze. which equals papers which equals gross. no thank-you! and I've always loved photography. loved it since forever. and i thought about doing it as my undergrad the first time i was here, but everyone and there dog is a photographer, so nope. but now, my situation is different. it doesn't matter what i get my undergrad in, cause i'm going to grad school! love this. and yes, i get up at 5am to go hit the sunrise for the amazing photos, i'm okay with this. and worse case scenario, lets say i don't get into grad school (which hopefully wont be the case, cause i'm busting my butt here) with art history all i can do is go work in a museum or go be a curator in a gallery. and really, the competition for that is insane. it really is. there are only a handful of good museums in nyc and think about how many people live there... 8 million or so. so no. that's not realistic. and with photography i could get work. but, don't forget i'm really an architect and i can get work that way. this is just something i'm passionate about and i know it'll be great! and when i was working on my plaza job, daydreaming constantly about other career paths, photography was always my top choice. so this will be good.
and good news... i got tested again for my disability. turns out i'm almost superior level when it comes to learning visually, awesome, and average on something else, and below on word recognition or something like that. it deals with remembering stuff. ha, but i can't really remember what he said so i'm going to pick up a hard copy of the evaluation on tuesday. so yeah, turns out, i actually am really bright. just need to be taught in a specific way. so that's good news to hear.
and best news... took my first math test (in 5 years) i got a 91%! and at first, yea i was kinda bummed. cause i just want 100's on everything. but my tutor made me feel tons better. cause she said, "no... that's really good for summer. with how much they cram into 8 wks vs. the normal 16 weeks, normally people get C's and possibly B's if they are lucky. so feel good about a 91" (which is yes an A-) but still... if it was only 4 points higher, it would've been an A. ha, oh well. next time.
but sad day.. i lost my ipod. ugh. this was my last one. i was so bummed this morning. i woke up real early to go running, looked for 30 mins and finally gave up and went back to sleep. so now i gotta get a new one. but, i really do not like the nano's at all. i just like the classic ipods. they are bigger, they are better at the touch responding/wheel. but, with a normal classic ipos, it's tons bigger than the nano, and you can feel it on your arm. so... i don't know what to do. guess i'll figure it out. and i gotta get a messenger bag. cause this bag i bought for school doesn't hold all my books, and when they are all in there, man, it's a killer for my shoulder. i forgot how heavy these things get. so i'm on the hunt. i spend about 4ish hours on Thursday looking for one around town. apparently they do not exist. so i gotta look harder.
next week:
will be great! i'll be taking my first test in science on thursday, then right after that heading down to provo/orem to go on a picnic with my dad's family up the canyon. ooh so fun. can't wait to be in the mountains again and to see everyone. then hang out with my granny for a bit. then hopefully go down to st. george and go to kolob!! man i want to go there so badly. i haven't been since i was 17, and now i'm 29... so 12 years of absence. and theres a need to go back. and kolob is with my mom's family, so that'll be great to see everyone too. and to be in nature! and it'll be great to study down there also cause i've got another math test right ater i get back up to school. ha, guess it never ends. which is nice. i like being busy. much better than laying around all day. aka life in slc. hahahaha.
