that out of all the apts, my decorating sense gets better and better. ha. this one, just might be the best one yet. nyc i had some great things. but i've found some real finds here. so here are some pictures of living room/dining/kitchen area. i'm still going to get a square leather ottoman. i hate not being able to put your feet on something when you watch tv. and i want get some shelves to put above the TV with something involving a map. not sure yet. need to see what's pinterest got. and i'm working on the side tables. haha, the lamps are just on top of boxes. i'm going to take wine crates, stain them and whalla. instant beauty. but getting the wine crates isn't so easy. i might just have to wait until december. which i'm okay with. and my room is still messy, so i'll post those pictures later. enjoy!
that hanging hook thing for coats/bags... man it's the worst. there's at least 6 holes behind it. but i finally got it up! and i guess that's all that matters. ha.
love my architectural pictures. and the new drapes! i just hung them yesterday and took down these hideous 1970 plastic crap things. so happy.
there's a balcony outside too, with two pot hangers, i'm going to go up to pasedena one weekend and look for old lanterns to put on it. and put candles in them. and maybe over time get some green out there too. as in plants.
now this couch... this couch is my favorite. it's it amazing??
this couch, this couch is so "snuggle up on it" worthy. it's so comfy. i've never bought a brand new couch before and i'm very pleased with my purchase! i wanted a grey couch but all the couches i saw were just solid/boring/too dark grey. then i cam across this perfection and it's perfect! and best part... it came with the graphic pillows! score. ha. when i went to go get it the other weekend i tried to negotiate (thinking i was all cool) saying "okay i'll buy this couch today if you throw in the pillows". thinking they would be another 80 dollars. told me they came with it. then i tried to get it a sleeper sofa, but that's not an option on this couch. but hey, i tried!
love this steamer trunk. another great find.
here's the kitchen. we got the fridge delivered by this guy wearing flip flops! ha, idiot. and his friend had to be 60+ helping him carry it up a flight of stairs i thought he was going to have a heart attach. but we switched the door swing (it was quite the ordeal), deep cleaned the fridge, and it felt brand new! thanks craigslist.
cute little cabinet doors at the end, it feels old fashioned.
and here's what my side tables will look like:

so when it's all done, i'll be very happy. but my roommate is amazing. she's totally just letting me take over! then again i am the one to buy everything, but that's okay. in a year when she's done with school i'm just going to live here alone. i love being able to run into santa monica. i'm so close to the century city mall (it's so pretty) and yes, traffic is a nightmare cause i'm right next to the 405 (any cross streets around the 405 are always jammed cause people are getting on/off of the freeway) but i really like it. i have my own (!) covered parking spot, that my SUV can fit in. and there's w/d on just down the stairs. and the neighborhood is cute. there's grocery store 3 blocks away with the post office, i'm super close to all the shops on montana. no, i still haven't explored yet. all i do is apartment stuff. this weekend i wanted to do nothing. but really i only get 1 day of weekend. that's it. saturday. cause stupid church is at 2:15. gross. i might become inactive just for that reason. it's the worst. but yesterday i was doing drapes and hanging that dumb coat rack. but i'm so glad i did! cause i love the way it all turned out.
