love it love it

so this weekend started out pretty crappy, but ended splendidly! especially on monday. that seriously just made my weekend. about 2-3 weeks ago i went in to talk to someone about an internship for next summer (and i realized it's so crazy early to be thinking about it, but i didn't want to miss any steps since this is all so new to me). anyway when i was down there talking to this counselor person he told me about how there's a finance group going to nyc at the beginning of august to go look at firms downtown and uptown. BUT (!!) they only accepted 15 students to go who are typically in the business program (which i am not, but hopefully will be at the end of august), and the deadline was last february...hahaha... 5 months ago. but i telling this guy, but i'll be in ct then! i could just meet up with them where ever they are at in the city. so he told me, um, i think that might be okay, email this person. so i did, and he forwarded it onto the head guy running the group and i was on pins and needles to know if i could go or not. but i got a phone call yesterday (oh and during this process i sent over my resume with all my architecture stuff on it, and felt the need to explain myself. cause clearly when you look at it and all the accomplishments i have you would think, why the heck does she want to do finance?) so anyway.... i talked to the head person and he started the conversation with, "we would be delighted to have you join us!" yeah!!! oh my gosh! permi-grin all day. yahoo, yahoo, yahoo. it's going to be an intense 2.5 days. we'll be seeing either 10 or 15 firms, i can't remember. but all the big wigs. and basically it's a networking trip that i feel it crucial to get a stellar internship for next summer. so good way to start of my morning! then i went down to orem to hang out with family. it was a lot of fun. playing croquet, having home-cooked meal. what's not to love. and i also went out to park city this weekend, and up to tony grove. so i was busy, which was nice, but didn't do any homework! such a wonderful awesome break! and i don't feel bad about it at all. haha.

and thankfully my dumb geology class is over on friday!! aaahhhh only 4 more days of pain. and i just calculated my grades so far... no wait! the best best part of the weekend, well i guess equally as best as nyc.. i got my stats exam and i got the highest grade in the class! whaaaat??!! ya i ended up getting a 93 which bums me out. can't break that A- hump. oh well. ya, i can't believe it some people failed with style. they got a 4o out of 200 points. yikes. what's the point of even taking the test if your gunna fail that bad? but i guess a 40 is better than a 0.

anyway so i calculated out my grades so far:
stats: A- (92, bummer)
business communications: A
Geology: B+

i'm okay with the B+. it's my own fault. i doubt i'll get an A- out of the class. i realized right now i'm taking the equivalent of 20 credit hours. so i'm really, really okay with all this. haha. i told my grandma about my stats exam grade, and her comment: "looks like you've got grandpa in you". man oh man i hope so!! i hope 3/4 of me is grandpa. he was so successful. i would so happy if i'm 1/2 as successful as he was. so yah, i'm jazzed about nyc it'll be such a fun way to start my break of 2.5-3 weeks of no school.
