the human body's amazing

so first i'll start with the most important.... moab 1/2 marathon! oh my gosh!!!! i actually did it. so check of the list baby! ha.

but yeah i signed up last december was gun ho on training for the remaining weeks (wanna say 2 or 3) then i was really good for 2 weeks in january, then 2 weeks (if that) in februray then i only ran about 4 times in march. with the most mileage topping out at 6 miles. yikes!!! so, no, that is definitely NOT training (1/2 marathon is 13.1 miles). so yeah i ran this thing with no training, only sleeping (on the floor) for 7 mins the night before, and having mexican food for dinner the night before the race, ha, all equals amazement i did it! even though my arches in my feet are still a little soar i still can't believe i did it. and craziest thing about all this... i wasn't really that soar. i really shouldn't have been able to walk for a week, considering everything, but besides soar feet and my achelies (sp) tendent i was fine. weird!

but it was so great to be around 5,000 people that just love, love, love running. on that level it was really cool. and yup, the scenery was the reason i signed up! ha, it was beautiful. but it was funny. so this was my first real race actually and they bused us up to the start line and seriously the bus ride took 45 mins! i was freaking out!! thinking, oh my gosh.... it's taking this long on a bus!!! screw this! i changed my mind. but nope. no changing allowed.

but some friends ran it with me. and one of the friends, this was her first time too. so that was really cool. and just meeting new people was great too. and after the race we went and saw/walked, no hobbled, to some moab sites. that was awesome. saw the famous delicate arch (what's on utah's liecensce plate). and some other places that i can't wait to go back to go camping and really hiking. such a memorable weekend. utah's great!! who knew i would like it so much?? ha, not me, that's for sure!

this is the great salt lake at sunset. man, i wish i could be a professional photographer. but everyones a photographer. but isn't this amazing? its my new screensavor on my phone. love it!

this is draper temple. callie is getting married there in less than a month, and i had never seen it before so i drove up one sunday to take a peek. doesn't this look fake? it does to me. ha, it looks like a poor hollywood backdrop or something. but it's not.
