yeah... i was so, so, so excited about this amazing find!! hahaha. so i had an hour to kill before trying for "in the heights" broadway lottery and decided to stroll around Hell's Kitchen. 46th between 8th/9th is awesome. so cute, and appearantly it's called resturant row. don't know why cause there's only a few resturants. ha. anyway, so as i was walking around i found some beautiful brownstons (as pictued above) and then i came across this one... the fountain house.
it was beautiful! and named, so i googled it. yeah i googled it. that's the part of this that kills me the most. well i really didn't read the blurb i just skimmed it, and lost focus after it said it was over 57,000 square feet with gardens. at this point i just walked right in.. and yes the interior was wonderful! 1800's restored wonderful. someone came up to me, and he confirmed yes, the building is that big and yes they do have gardens, and yes they offer tours. TOURS!! yahoo. i was pumped. when i said i wanted he asked if i wanted to become a member (i just thought he meant do i want to donate, and that's a definite no with being jobless and all). but he seemed overly egar to give me a tour and just really enthused by it. well i leave really pleased. and i email a freind with a picture of the building and website blurb... well good thing the stuff she reads actually clicks with her, cause she pointed out that it's a place for self help people. haha. i re-read the blurb and yup, it's true. this thursday i'm gunna have a self-help tour given by mental patients!!! mental patients, what??!! haha, and he thought i either wanted self help or was mental..haha. wow. don't worry the mental people are highly suppervised. oh boy. love my stupid, stupid blonde moments. haha.
